Transportation Services/Senior Wheels
Transportation is necessary for seniors to remain mobile to keep their social independence with friends and family to reduce feelings of isolation and loneliness, and many other life-prolonging benefits. The resources below are designed to help get seniors where they need to go.
All programs, prices, and registration requirements are subject to change.
City of Laguna Niguel Senior Transportation Program - Senior Wheels
Through OCTA Measure M2 funding, this program provides transportation service through a City contract with OCY Management, LLC to provide roundtrip transportation from Laguna Niguel residents’ homes to the Sea Country Senior and Community Center, non-emergency medical appointments within Laguna Niguel as well as multiple medical appointments to Saddleback Memorial Hospital, Mission Hospital in Mission Viejo, Mission Hospital in Laguna Beach, Kaiser Permanente in Irvine, Hoag Health Center in Irvine, VA in Long Beach, and anywhere in the city of Laguna Niguel. Select shopping and airport trips outside of the city are offered. This program provides curb-to-curb service on demand 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Note: Sea Country Senior and Community Center is only open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays with only Fitness Center access, regardless of transportation hours.
Free Rides to Senior Center & Affordable Rates to Eligible Locations
The Senior Wheels Program provides curb-to-curb service on demand 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including some holidays. Rides from resident’s home to the Senior Center are FREE, and we offer rides to eligible locations at affordable rates, start at $2.50 each way.
Application Process
To qualify for this program, you must be a Laguna Niguel resident, at least 60 years of age or older, and unable to drive a vehicle for any reason. Applications can be obtained online, by calling the front desk at (949) 425-5151 to mail you an application, or in person at the front desk of the center (24602 Aliso Creek Rd.). Please follow the steps shown below to submit your application today!
- Fill out the City of Laguna Niguel Senior Wheels Application and waiver form.
- Provide proof of residency by either providing a copy of your Driver’s License or a utility bill.
- Submit your application to Sea Country Senior & Community Center by:
- Mail: 24602 Aliso Creek Rd. Laguna Niguel, CA 92677, or
- E-mail: scscc@cityoflagunaniguel.org, or
- Visiting in-person at the front desk.
- Sea Country Senior and Community Center Staff will review your application once received.
- If approved, you will be mailed and e-mailed directions for scheduling your upcoming trips.
- If denied, you will be mailed and e-mailed an explanation for the reason(s) you didn’t meet eligibility.
