1st Marine Regimental Headquarters Unit

On November 19, 2024, the Laguna Niguel City Council voted unanimously to formally adopt the 1^st Marines Regimental Headquarters Unit as an official City Council adoptive military unit.  

The 1^st Marine Regiment is an infantry regiment of the United States Marine Corps based at Camp Pendleton, CA. The regiment is under the command of the 1^st Marine Division and the Marine Expeditionary Force. The 1^st Marine Division is the oldest, largest and most decorated Marine Division.

The 1^st Marine Regiment stands ready to conduct contingency response requirements and is prepared to deploy as a scalable ground combat element to defeat threats across the range of military operations.
