Council Member Stephanie Oddo

Stephanie OddoCouncil Member Stephanie Oddo was elected to the Laguna Niguel City Council on November 8, 2022 for a four-year term. On April 18, 2023, Council Member Oddo was selected to serve as Mayor Pro Tem, and on November 7, 2023,  she was reaffirmed to continue as Mayor Pro Tem. 

Stephanie is currently appointed to:

  • Laguna Niguel Parks, Recreation, and Senior Commission
  • Transportation Corridor Agency, San Joaquin Hills (The Toll Roads) (Vice Chair)
  • Orange County Housing and Community Development Commission (Chair)

Council Member Stephanie Oddo is a lifelong civic leader and mother with business, nonprofit and government consulting experience who engages and empowers to gets things done. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in International Politics from Penn State University and a Master’s in Latin American Studies from San Diego State University. She was a public relations and web services consultant for high-profile government, nonprofit and business clients in the Washington, DC. area. In 2020, using her lifelong skills as an organizer and community leader, Stephanie founded Healthcare Mask Collaborative (HMC) in response to the PPE shortage crisis. HMC served 150 organizations and had over 220 volunteers who produced, distributed and donated masks during the COVID-19 pandemic. Council Member Oddo is strongly committed to young people in the community. She founded the Hidden Hills 1st Gen Scholarship through Dana Hills PTA, lectures at universities in Southern California and mentors college and postgraduate students interested in government careers.  
 
Stephanie has made a lifelong commitment to community service. She served as President of the Laguna Niguel Rotary Club where she spearheaded two efforts: a free local dental clinic that serves approximately 100 people a year and an effort to obtain the club’s first Global Grant. This propelled her to serve as Chair of International Service for Rotary District 5320 (Orange County and Long Beach) and to train clubs how to obtain Global Grants. She has also served as Director of Government for the League of Women Voters of Orange Coast. She launched that League’s first ever Observer Corps. The Corps inspires, trains and empowers volunteers to observe and report on local public meetings. Stephanie also served as President of the Orange County Sheriff’s Citizen Academy (2012), Ambassador to the Laguna Niguel Chamber of Commerce (2021-2022), Founding member of DIVE (Diversity, Inclusion, Values and Equity) Student Affairs Committee (2019-2021) at SMCHS, Coach with Laguna Niguel Youth Soccer Association (2011) and Girl Scout Leader of Laguna Niguel Troop #3004 (2012-2016).

Before moving to Laguna Niguel in 2010, she served as the youngest-ever elected to the Belleair, Florida Town Commission. In that role, she also served as: Council Member of the Pinellas Planning Council, Board Member of the Florida League of Cities Home Rule and Finance and Tax Committees, Board Member of the Pinellas County Historic Preservation Board, Chair of the Ad Hoc Belleair Police Committee, and Co-Chair of Pinellas and Hillsborough County “No” on Amendment 4 (a land use amendment to the Florida Constitution).

Stephanie Oddo is a current member of the Laguna Niguel Women’s Club, Niguel Botanical Preserve, Laguna Niguel Chamber of Commerce, Laguna Niguel Historical Society, Laguna Niguel Friends of the Library and the League of Women Voters Orange Coast.

Stephanie is very proud of her Armenian heritage, is a fluent Spanish-speaker, enjoys photography and spending time with her husband, Eddie and young adult children Eddie and Alex.
