General Information and Vacancies

The City of Laguna Niguel has a number of commissions and committees that perform a valuable service by providing a means by which the City Council can obtain the advice, opinions, and recommendations of City residents and other members of the community.

Application Period

The City of Laguna Niguel is accepting applications to fill positions on various City Commissions and Committees from October 2, 2023 through November 17, 2023. These are voluntary positions. Completed applications must be submitted to Stacey Chavez, Deputy City Clerk, via email at or by mail at the address shown below.

The application deadline is Friday, November 17, 2023 by 5:00 pm. Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted. To obtain information regarding the purpose and functions of the City Commissions or Committees, please contact the City Clerk's Office at or 949-362-4302.

Interviews for all City Commissions and Committees will be conducted at Special City Council meetings scheduled to be held on January 10 and January 11, 2024, beginning at 4:00 p.m. on both days. All applicants that submitted a completed application prior to the deadline will be notified of an interview date and time after the application deadline.

Planning Commission

Traffic & Transportation 
Laguna Niguel Resident and Registered Voter
Investment, Banking & Audit 
Laguna Niguel Resident, Registered Voter, and Substantial Relevant Education/Experience
Military Support Committee
Senior Citizens Committee
Laguna Niguel Resident, Registered Voter, and 
55 years or older
Youth Committee
Laguna Niguel Resident, High School Student, and Maintain a GPA of 2.25 or higher
