The Public Works Department is responsible for maintaining and improving all publicly-owned streets, medians, storm drains, traffic signals and traffic control devices, as well as City-owned parks, slopes, and facilities. Public Works also manages numerous City programs to include stormwater, solid waste, recycling, Pavement Management, and Capital Improvements.

Golden Lantern Median Modifications at Serenity Lane Project - Update
Crown Valley Park - Playground Safety Surface Repairs
Capital Improvement Program (CIP) Dashboard - February 2026 Update
The purpose of this project is to modify the north and south medians on Golden Lantern at Serenity Lane by shifting the medians approximately five feet and widening the left-turn buffer zone. These improvements are designed to enhance sight distance for both northbound and southbound left-turn movements, thereby improving overall intersection safety and traffic operations.
This week, the final roadway striping was completed.
SDG&E anticipates installing the new streetlights in the next 3 to 5 weeks, subject to change due to inclement weather or unforeseen operational issues.
Parks and Facilities Maintenance staff regularly inspect City-owned parks and playground areas and schedule repairs as necessary to maintain safe and enjoyable facilities.
Localized repairs to the playground safety surface are often necessary in high traffic areas, such as under swings, at the bottom of slides and at entry and exit points of the playground equipment. Area patching ensures that the safety surface is free of trip hazards and extends the useful life.
This week, the City’s general maintenance contractor, Jamey Clark, Inc., completed repairs to the playground safety surface at Crown Valley Park.
The CIP Dashboard provides project information, including location, description, schedule, and funding for all current CIP projects.
Users can explore and apply filters to the map specific to Project Phase and Project Type and locate projects occurring in a specific area of the City using the search bar.
Users are also able to click on the icons in the map to see project details.
February 2026 updates include initiation of the design phase for the Residential Overlay Program (FY25-26) and the Major Arterial Rehabilitation Program (Alicia Parkway).
